Shilajit is one of the few herbs that I recommend.
A recent published study, found that Shilajit extract reduces oxidative stress, inflammation, and bone loss to dose-dependently preserve bone mineral density in Postmenopausal women with Osteopenia:
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial - PubMed
In my years of practice, I have become sceptical of herbs in general, their potential health claims, sourcing, purity etc.
Shilajit, however, is an exception in terms of efficacy & its many health benefits, provided you find a reliable source to ensure purity of the herb.
Shilajit is mentioned in Ancient Ayurveda texts & is traditionally used to enhance the Male Libido and to a large extent improve symptoms of impotence.
Shilajit is equally effective in improving Female libido.
Shilajit is an effective adaptogen, it enhances the efficacy of other herbs when used in conjunction.
Shilajit is found to play a protective role in Cognition of patients diagnosed with early Alzheimer's. The herb is found to protect and enhance neural-synapses.
Shilajit helps to remineralise the bones in postmenopausal women, suffering from Osteopenia.
Shilajit is an advanced Liver and Gut cleanser:
I recommend a small amount in hot water for three days in the run up to full moon, 2-3 times a year.
